Our hunts are sold as a three-day complete package. We will customize a package for a group according to their needs as well. We can put individuals and smaller groups together to enjoy a hunt as well. You will have a private room with deluxe accommodations across from Cabela's in Mitchell, breakfast at the hotel, a delicious hot field lunch buffet, and a mouth-watering steak, walleye and roast pheasant dinner with wine for your evening meal. The hunting package also includes a trapshooting warm-up and professionally cleaned and packaged pheasants. Our service has full-time staff and Mike Kuchera personally guides all of his hunts along with a professional dog handler of well-trained Labrador retrievers, a English Springer Spaniel and a Golden Retriever.
On our hunts it is very common to see 200 to 300 pheasants each day of the hunt. Our hunters can be assured they will shoot at their limit of birds every day. We strive to have each hunter have a pheasant hunt that they have been dreaming of.
We hunt within a 50 miles radius of Mitchell. We hunt in a traditional walk and block style of hunting and have prime habitat hunting at a different farm or area each day of the hunt. Our hunts are very organized, allowing everyone involved to enjoy the hunt.
The topography of the land we hunt is mostly flat and occasionally will have a little roll to it. The bird cover is a variety of different habitat such as tree shelterbelts with food plots (corn, cane or milo mix) alongside or in good cover in low lying areas in the cropland fields. Pheasants like weeds such as cochia and sweet clover so you will find them hanging out in this cover part of the day. We do have some areas we will hunt which are mainly grass such as switch grass, reed canary grass, and big blue stem grass.
We do not hunt the same area twice during your two or three day hunt. Our goal is to hunt only wild pheasants. Mike believes in keeping the traditional way of pheasant hunting alive. Mike Kuchera personally guides all of his hunts. Our hunters leave happy and can't wait to come back next year.
