Mitchell, South Dakota - Wild Pheasant Hunting

Mike Kuchera's pheasant hunts are based out of Mitchell, South Dakota, the heart of South Dakota's world-famous pheasant hunting country. It is located a little over one hour's drive west of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. You can fly commercially into Sioux Falls or directly into Mitchell with any private plane. [ See location map ]

Mitchell, located along Interstate 90, is a thriving community of 14,000 friendly faces and is most known for being home of the World's Only Corn Palace. Mitchell is also known for other tourist attractions as well, and now for a new Cabela's retail store. Cabela's, known as the World's Foremost Outfitter for hunting and fishing apparel, has an 85,000 square foot retail showroom in Mitchell. Cabela's has been a great hit with our hunters. They show up and immediately want to go to Cabela's.

Mike Kuchera’s South Dakota Guide Service pheasant hunting packages provide you with deluxe accommodations at the Mitchell Hampton Inn, located just off Interstate Exit 332 across from Cabela’s.  Our package includes a night’s lodging for each day of hunting.  For example, if you are hunting a three day hunt which is scheduled for a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, your lodging included in the package is for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.  Each hunter has his/her own private room, and the hotel offers many great amenities such as an exercise room, Jacuzzi, indoor pool, great lobby with fireplace, and a beautiful breakfast area.  Mike also offers a hospitality room where the hunters can gather together.  Included in the hunting packages are a cooked breakfast off the menu or breakfast at the hotel, a hot lunch featuring a great meat of the day served in the field, and an evening dinner.

Valentine, Nebraska - Prairie Chicken/Sharptail Grouse Hunts

Our prairie chicken/sharptail grouse hunts are based out of Valentine, Nebraska, which is located in northwestern Nebraska. You can fly commercially into Rapid City, South Dakota, which is 170 miles northwest of Valentine. Or you can fly directly into Valentine with a private plane. In Valentine you will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express or at the Trade Winds Lodge. Each hunter has a private room. Our hunts in Valentine include a breakfast, either cooked or at the hotel, great field lunch/buffet and a very satisfying dinner at a local steak house.
